Old Hall

This mightily impressive Grade I-listed hall dating from 1656 was once the residence of the lords of the manor of Sandbach. It has been described as a good example of Elizabethan architecture and has wattle and daub walls. It became an inn in C18 with a coaching arch to the right. It has been brought back to life by Brunning & Price, carefully restored, tastefully refurbished and extended, retaining most of its original fittings. There are two wonderful Jacobean carved fireplaces. Many historical pictures on the walls. A range of real ales, real cider in the summer and meals.
